That would be awesome for the legislature to actually hold the university accountable for keeping on a prof that wishes death on our children but then again a lot of the other faculty wants to back this guy... unfortunately I don't know if they could legally follow through...

They maintained that freedom of expression should be "a core value of any university."

Last I checked damning our children and wishing they were murdered isn't exactly "freedom of expression" in my book.
"Well-regulated" meant well equipped, trained and disciplined... not controlled with an iron fist.

Their concept of "freedom of expression" is liberal double-speak for WE say what we want. Their only real concern over his statement is probably the invocation of God to damn NRA members, thereby linking KU to such an oppressive and out-dated concept like the existence of a divine higher power. The fact that this D-bag is an esteemed prof of journalism surprises me not at all, and says a ton about the media today.

RedDot:

Every time I see a Claymore with more writing on it than a Ruger, I wonder, "Couldn't they have just put a Smiley Face :D on the Good Side, and a Frown  on the Bad Side??"

In my branch of the military, some of the Guys couldn't read.   And those were officers.

I like the part about how he will be reassigned to other duties outside the University as much as possible.
What kind of make work plan is that!! Somebody is so offensive that they need to hide him...Bad Form KU.
Imagine if a faculty member had said the children of Minorities, Gays, Union members, Acedemics etc... needed to die  and GD them, would that person be treated so well?

Sadly, too many universities idea of free expression is toting the line on whatever they determine to politically correct. :(

Could it be.......

That's the Very End Result That He Was After the Whole Time?????

Listen:   That Guy is a Master Schemer!!!!

Go Figger:   Say you get tired of students yawning in your face.   And incredibly long, boring faculty meetings where all the faculty members are trying to give lectures to each other.....And term papers.....And trying to read your old lecture notes.....And you're behind in your grading....And it's days and weeks until Fall Break.

So--Just stand up and say Something Absolutely Outrageous (against the Right-of-Center, of course.)

Immediate suspension, with no real responsibilities.   I mean--after all--what can a Professor actually do?

And then after his suspension and reassignment, This Guy Goes on Sabbatical in January!!!!!

To Those Who Don't Know....A Sabbatical is a Full Year of Sundays!!!!   Paid Sundays.

Notes From an Insider.
