What is your "to buy" list for 2014?
« on: November 29, 2013, 11:27:26 AM »
With the new year coming up, I know I cant be the only one with a list of guns I want to/plan on buying next year.  So whats on your list?

Me, I definitely want a Glock 19 and a Ruger LCR.  Also Im hoping to pick up a S&W M&P 15 MOE and maaayybbeee a Keltec KSG

Some other maybes - XDM .45 compact and Glock 30

Id also like some sort of bolt action rifle, not really sure what yet tho.  I dont hunt so nothing fancy, I see Sheels has those Savage Axis for around $330, something like that maybe.  I only have a couple hundred yards I can shoot it at my house, so something too nice would be a waste.

Someone I know wants to sell me a Taurus 905 (9mm revolver) which is kinda cool, but Im not really sold on it yet.  I do have mostly 9mm pistols, so it does make some sense I suppose.

So how about you?

Good list....where do I begin.

Yet this year I am gonna buy a C.C. piece, likely a xd sub compact.

I definitely want to pick up a tactical shotgun for home defense & a easily accessible safe for it in my closet.

Beyond those 2 I need to prioritize....I'd like a 357 snub nose, a mini 30, a nice 22 rifle, & a pistol that my wife wouldn't be scared to shoot, maybe a 38 or 380...

I better keep working overtime....ahhhh.....id also like to have plenty of ammo for everything I have.

Before I get to #4 next year I think I'm gonna invest in some training. Probably a more advanced ccw class & maybe a tactical rifle class.

This is more of my "wish" list instead of my "to buy" since it is always a mystery on how funds will work out for the year.

Supplies
  • Bullets
  • Primers

Firearms
  • Shotgun for 3-gun
  • Carry pistol that more closely mimics the operation of my competition gun
  • AR lower for possible a SBR 300 Blackout
Accessories
  • Optics for my AR

Fly
Si vis pacem, para bellum

My short list:

RIA 22TCM rifle, if they're ever available. (I imagine they're coming from the Philippines, and the wait may be long from over.)
6.5WSM bolt action custom build, just for the heck of it.
and finally, a Thompson 1921/1928 (right after I win the lottery--funny, it was on my list last year too)

Well, might as well join the wishin' and hopin' thread :D

1  A 1911 of some stripe.

2  An AR in 5.56.

3  Ammo for everything I shoot ( or want to shoot).

4  Components for reloading.

I'm very fortunate.  Unless I come into a LOT of money and can afford to start buying registered machine guns I have pretty much everything I want, firearms wise.  I would like to get a quality 1911 like a Dan Wesson, and I want to someday build a flintlock long rifle.  But other than that I'm sitting pretty.

So I'm planning on buying a LOT of reloading components.   ;D

I have a lot that I want.... but I will be lucky to get anything.... The unnamed son in February is going to be my big investment this year... ;D

But this list is
80% Lower for a my SBR
556 upper
22lr upper
6.8 upper
RIA 2011 9mm High Capacity if they ever become existent.
Semi-Auto Shotty (not sure what brand)
I want to do some shooting comps. this year so I want to get some of the proper equipment
Stock pile ammo...
maybe get into reloading....

Those are the major items but the list always goes on... I guess when your just starting off the list never stops growing... I know the wife doesn't care for the list... ::)

2. buy ammo and accessories.
3. Take a carbine class or two (i know its not a gun)
4. Buy a 308 bolt action and scope.... nothing too pricey

A Henry H001 lever action 22lr, but I bought it early (today) 20% off Black Friday deal at Wallyworld $254 out the door.
They still have 20% off any long gun/shotgun in stock thru Dec 1st.
The cheapest one I saw at the gun show was $310.

A stock for my SBR when the stamp is approved.

Other than that I really don't have anything I really want per se.
It is highly likely the above post may offend you. I'm fine with that.

2014 is going to be limited for guns.  As I am taking my parents for a cruise in December for their 50th. Would like to pick up a Ruger in .308 or 30-06 to replace the long gun position in the safe.

ARs are 20% off?

My list is small.  All I want is a Glock Cutaway.

Basically, it was everything that was not considered tactical.  Ar's did not qualify nor did the home defense shotguns.  Everything else was 20% off through last night.

My list got a little shorter about 5:30am last Friday at Cabela's.  ;)

Browning 1885 High Wall in 45-70 - I've wanted one of these for quite some time, and at their price point probably won't be in the market soon

Sig P226 - I like Sigs, what can I say?

Springfield M1A - should be pretty self explanatory

Sig 516 - I'd like a Piston AR10. Sounds good.

I probably will only be able to get one this next year. Now that I'm hooked on IDPA I'm spending a lot of money on ammo. I'll probably get the P226 just so I've got something a little cheaper to shoot.

The Sig P938 has peaked my interest.  Especially after doing some research.
