Cheaper Than Dirt
« on: January 18, 2014, 04:26:59 PM »
I have been purchasing ammo here for a few months now, not an issue to speak of.  Was at Cabelas yesterday purchasing a new toy, and overheard a fellow telling someone somehing along the lines of

"....oh, dont even mention cheaper than dirt, its almost a dirty word, etc....."

Well i missed the entire conversation except that part.  Anyone know any reason why not to be purchasing from them?  Is there some dirt on them im not aware of?

check their pricing on .22 LR ammo, that should help to clear up some of the confusion

Don't forget what they did with their AR mag prices.  I'll never buy anything through them again.

CTD is infamous for it's price gouging practices, and many will not do business with them as a result

Is it gouging, or is it rationing through pricing?   I don't feel they are the antichrist of retailers.   I put all the blame on the Washington heads that try to take away our tools of the 2nd amendment.

My opinion ia it's gouging, especially if your entire site and reputation was built on the name "Cheaper Than Dirt"... they gouge so bad they should change it to "Charge Out the A** if supplies run even slightly low"
"Well-regulated" meant well equipped, trained and disciplined... not controlled with an iron fist.

They let short term gain, ruin a lot of good will with gunners.
Time will tell if they are ever forgiven. I'm with AWick on this one.

F them forever, they are no longer one of my bookmarks. I remember 9mm white box for $49.99, AR15 mags for $99.99. They will never see another dollar of mine.

Midway sent emails out to all their customers telling them they would never pull that crap, and they didn't. I will gladly order from them.

Today I spent $600 at a local store in GI, was nice to be able to buy from a person you can see. Would have been more if they would have had some powder.

They tried to get back into gun owners' good graces by being the SAF's Diamond Sponsor in 2013.  I threw away every catalog I got from them and unsubscribed from their emails.

For ammo, there are a host of options.  SG Ammo is right at the top.  Good pricing and fair shipping.

Here are a couple of site that give you some good pricing.

It's a shame too, cause the retail store in McKinney is awesome (at least it was a couple years ago when I visited it).  The sad part of price gouging is there are people who pay the outlandish prices.  Arms and ammo in Fremont pulled the same stunt on prices if I remember properly.

I've never ordered from them and I never will. They remind me of a sleazy car salesmen.

Agreed. I've always gotten what I ordered in a timely fashion, in secure packaging, etc. I've been doing business with them since 1999.

However, for ammo gunbot.net is the new hotness.
