Open carry in Wally!
« on: May 12, 2014, 04:38:57 PM »
Today while I was in Walmart, I was talking to some people in the isle.  Out of the corner of my eye I saw this twenty something year old kid walking towards us,  He had quite the manly strut.  Real tough o g style.  I didn't see a superman emblem on his chest, although as he walked by I noticed a gun on his side.  My first thoughts were oh my this is all we need is some tough guy walking around sporting his gun in Walmart.  Then to double the fun I noticed It didn't even have a mag in it!  Don't get me wrong I think you should be able to open carry if you want, but I truly believe this guy was begging for attention and trying to make law abiding armed citizens look like crazed gun gangbangers!  It really ticked me off!    Any thoughts?

Just...why?  Maybe...

...he hasn't been able to find any ammo to fill the magazine.
...he plain forgot the magazine.
...he unintentionally pushed the mag release and dropped it somewhere (on the floor of his truck?).
...the empty magazine well was part of the statement he was trying to make.

Maybe he was from California originally, isn't that how they had to OC when it was allowed?
The master has failed more than the beginner has even tried.

It says right on the slide "CAUTION-CAPABLE OF FIRING WITH MAGAZINE REMOVED", so I'm good!

"Extra bullets just give you a false sense of security."  ???

If it was a .45, he'd only need the one shot...

If it was a Glock Grenade, he could just throw it at the bad guy.

If it was an all metal gun he could just pistol whip the bad guy...:)
It is highly likely the above post may offend you. I'm fine with that.

i know people who when they first get their ccw they carry but don't have a round in the chamber, maybe he is new to this and just trying to get used to the idea of having a weapon on his person before he has it loaded etc.

but maybe he is an idiot

Understandable.  But, practice at home.  I think it's risky to not have a loaded weapon when you are carrying,  especially open carry.   You might as well bring a paperweight to a gun fight.

I bet at least half the people who I sell a CC gun to are afraid to have one in the chamber and over half of them also want a safety, usually the safety locks the slide too...
