New Gun (Improvement on the original Tupperware Firearm)
« on: May 31, 2014, 11:05:31 PM »
I got myself a new handgun.  Was thinking about a Glock, but decided on this new company.  It fits my hand much better than a Glock and the aim is much more natural.  Best of all, no history of becoming a hand grenade.

It certainly has collectable value after Glock sues them into oblivion....

I don't think so.  Considering how much better these are than a Glock, they will quickly have the market share and put Glock out of business.

Kilo Lima.  You will be hearing more about them when they take the market away from Glock.

When you are an operator like I am, they ask you to try out their gun.   ;D

So does that mean we get a full range report? Or do you have to be discrete and hush hush ?

I shot a hundred rounds through it of just Federal 115gr target ammo.  No problems at all.  The trigger is the typical ~5-6# of most production guns.  Take-up, over travel, and reset is reasonable.  Break of trigger is not extremely crisp and a little gritty, but some light polishing (or just time) will probably smooth it out.  Sights are plastic.  I plan to replace those if anyone has suggestions.  Leaning towards a plain notched rear sight and fiber optic on front.  Holsters and other components are readily available because it is pretty much the dimensions of a Glock G19.

Refer to photo of target:  It took me 10-20 rounds to get used to the trigger, as witnessed by the nice spread of holes.  The head shots were intentional.  After that, I got more comfortable and was able to bring the group in.  Smoothing out the trigger should help a lot.

Internally, the new Kilo Lima dual recoil spring assembly substantially increases the life of the system. A reversible enlarged magazine catch, changeable in seconds, accommodates left or right-handed operators. The KL-1 9mm Luger retains the Kilo Lima accessory rail for your attachments.

No. No.  I would never buy a Glock.  Too much hype.  This is much better than a Glock.

He's not joking.  I see from fbo.gov that DHS has a contract out to procure 90,000 Kilo Lima KL-1s, "or similar specification pistols", as their standard issue sidearm, plus three hundred billion rounds of ammunition.

Rest assured they are going to incur the Wrath of Glock for patent infringement ....  This will be interesting to observe.....
