Product review- Lucas Gun Lube
« on: August 30, 2014, 06:49:38 PM »
I found this stuff at the local closeout tool store fairly cheap. While I have no long term info for my firearms, I will say this deadbolt lock has never worked this SMOOOOOOTH!

Company has a good reputation out of Indiana I believe, also think this is a synthetic blend.
The internet reviews are favorable.

I trust their auto products, thought I'd give it a try.

Had a deadbolt thats been sticky and quit working today. A little finesse with a screwdriver and pliers and things were back in line, but gritty.  For the life of me I could not find any WD40 , so grabbed the range bag and tried some of the Lucas Gun Lube.  Ahh Smooth.

I have been using it for a few years in all my guns, like you say they will operate very smooth, what I like it stays where you put it and doesn't seem to gather lent and dust in carry guns. (10 dollars at NAPA)

IMO  rem. oil and others like it are worthless.(very little lube quality, almost  dry to the touch after applied)

Having had a chance to see what Lucas does to the inside of an engine, it will NEVER touch my guns.
It is highly likely the above post may offend you. I'm fine with that.

I hate to be Captain Obvious but you should never run gun oil in an engine.

Not to be an ass or anything, but the gun oil is made by the same company that makes the crap to put in your engine. And that is why it will never touch my guns.

Yeah. I know this as have used Lucas oil products on the farm for around 15 years. There grease Red"n"Tacky is very high quality grease for farm equipment.  It was a failed attempt of mine to be a smart ass.

gun run smooooth ÷less friction =gun last longer

You do the math.

I will admit ive only used Lucas fuel system products with good results.
Usually when folks start putting chems internally, things are already bad. Just saying.
Anyway, this thread was started as a smartass attempt for a giggle about raiding the gun room/ bag for household use.
