When the clerk followed him outside the man allegedly pulled a gun, which the clerk was able to grab. The suspect then went back inside and tried to pay with a debit card, which was also denied.

As it happens, our criminals are just not very bright here in Omaha.  It's quite embarrassing.

My guess is that Lincoln probably has a somewhat higher class of perps, being a university town and all that.

At least, I never heard of this kind of thing in Lincoln.

Lincoln had a convenience store hold up, a few months ago, while a uniformed police officer was standing inside.  Guy was charged with a string of these hold ups.   Pretty dumb not to look around to see who is inside the store.
