October NFOA Breakfast.
« on: September 06, 2014, 02:57:03 PM »
Hello, today at breakfast, D&K let us know that they will all be out of town next month Oct 4th and will be closed.
We could;
(1) Re-schedule for the 3rd Sat. in Oct, the 18th at D&K.
(2) Take a month off and resume in Nov.
(3) Try another location on Oct. 4th.

I am open to whatever members want to do, today being a Husker game day our turnout was light, we talked about it a little, but came to no decisions.
Post up your thoughts.
Thanks Greg58

I'd say either another location on the 4th or skip that month.   It didn't work out so well with choosing another weekend the last time.

Lincoln would be ok, as long as someone gives good directions, or a 8 didgit grid.

If you're wanting to stay in the Gretna area try Flying J/Denny's just South of Nebraska Crossing on Highway 31.  That's South of I-80 a few feet.

Fairly large dining area with a full Denny's menu.  If you give them some advance notice they'll probably arrange a few tables for ya.

We go there a few times a year with some old high school buddies from Lincoln. (Class of '61)

Has there been any decision on this topic? I am open to Lincoln as well if that is the decision.

We have several people that would love to visit with everyone if we had one of these, I need to know the info to pass on if anyone would like to have a couple political people stop by and visit.  Candidates are out knocking on doors and trying to get votes so their having an interest in coming and visiting with us at the time it is in campaign season is a big thing.

No there has not been any decision about this. My inclination is to stay in the same area since most of the people who come are not from Lincoln.
I may call the Flying J and inquire about accommodations. If there was more interest from Lincoln members then I would consider going there.

Hometown? cafe on 48th, just down the street from thunder alley has some good breakfast if y'all wanna entertain Lincoln. I might even be able to make it.
It is highly likely the above post may offend you. I'm fine with that.

I was thinking the little cafe in Waverly.  But haven't had time to call and see about accommodations.
FarmerRick and I met there for breakfast once. Nice joint, good food.  Not deep into Lincoln and not posted!

(I was thinking if we ever wanted to do lunch, Parker's Roadhouse in Ashland would be sweet. )

I was reminded that Dave1215 had recommended The Egg and I in Papillion, so I am going to call them in the morning and see if their party room would be available.
That might allow some politicians to speak more easily to the group.
Bull. I do love Parker's!!

Ok, I called The Egg and I in Papillion and they will accomodate us in their party room.
10/04/2014 09:00 the address is 304 Olson Drive, Papillion Ne.
The resturant is located at Hwy 370 & 84th St. on the south side of 370 and a little east, it is on a frontage road and faces 370.
I told them to plan for 12-15 people and that maybe a political candidate or 2 may show up to speak to us.
I plan to be there.
