Bedside Gun Safe

So I'm looking to buy a bedside gun safe and seeing if anyone has ideas of one that is a must.

I've had a GunVault GV2000 for about 12 years or so. Only replaced the batteries in it twice, but I'm not opening it daily either.

It easily holds 3-4 pistols and extra mags. I'm very happy with it.

I 2nd the GunVault. We have had one for well over 10 years with no issues. It is a great balance of accessibility (possibly under stress) and security.

I had a chance to play with the new Hornady RAPID safe at The Bullet Hole. Seems like a really good safe. You have an RFID bracelet, card or key fob that will open it instantly, or conventional keypad code or key lock. I have yet to speak to anyone personally that has one at home. Im seriously looking at getting one once I can hear some more feedback.

That is one of the advantages to the GunVault IMO. All you have to do is find the buttons, the built in finger guide helps you do that. Left or right hand, lights on or off, punch in your pre programmed code and the spring loaded door opens. Like anything it takes some repetition to get it down, and once you do, it works very well.

Gunvault support is horrible. I just got one on clearance so I figured I would give it a try. Well there was a reason it was so cheap. Some idiot locked the keys inside while it was in the store so I had to order a new key. That was more than painful. It took a few hours of phone time and 3 weeks to get it when it was supposed to be 7 - 10 days per the person on the phone.

I have one of these for my suppressed handgun. Works great and the gun pops up like a jack-in-the-box.
