Would have loved to make it through a stage without a major brain problem (grounding the shotgun on the table instead of the barrel, forgetting the slugs, having some targets with 3 holes and others with one).  At least you can fix your gun or replace it.  Brain surgery?

It's different.   Fun, but lots more details to keep in mind, and LOTS more gear to lug around.

It always interests me that lots of people who are nervous about their first competition nonetheless choose MULTIGUN to start---and it's about the toughest style of competition for new folks, just because of all those details they need to keep in mind due to the multiple guns.

A stage in Multigun isn't any harder than a stage in USPSA, but all the details of the guns and gear make it much more complicated for everyone, particularly people who've never done it before.

People should come out and shoot everything---but I'd certainly suggest starting with Steel Challenge, then trying USPSA, then trying Multigun in terms of "difficulty levels for new shooters."  (Starting with Rock Your Glock before that would be even better.)

I've done all of the mentioned except Multigun.  Enjoy all of them.  Need to round up equipment for 3 gun

I thought it was a great time! Lots of new faces and some complex stages IMO. I actually liked that we used all 3 guns in every stage but it was definitely a time hog. Hope we can get a little 300 yard time this year as I got DQd last time!

Match in April includes the 300-meter range, so there you go. 

For everyone else, make sure you know where your rifle shoots at 100, 200, and 300 yards!

So I know marchs event is done but I have April on my schedule as of right now. Where is the best place to pick up slugs? Are they needed for the April match?

I get the 7/8oz fiocchi slugs from dsg arms. recoil is similar to 1 1/8oz 1200fps AA

Pretty much always want to have some in your range bag, just in case.

I tend to order the Fiocchi low-recoil ones online in bulk.  Cheap, work well, and you are set for a couple of years, (especially if like me, you don't practice shotgun).
