PRT: CCW Lifestyle class, May 9th...
« on: April 06, 2015, 06:13:36 PM »
Precision Response Training will be holding a CCW Lifestyle class on May 9th! Come take the class!

Do you carry? Do you actually know what carry method/mode works best for you? How much gun you can conceal easily?

Do you know the use of force laws, and have you ever actually made decisions about use of force under pressure? Have you participated in scenario training regarding your concealed carry?

What is your actual draw speed? How much distance from an assailant do you need to make effective use of your CCW?

Carrying a concealed firearm is a lifestyle choice---you don't simply get the permit, grab a gun and holster, and wear it around. If you are going to carry an effective weapon for self-defense on a daily basis, you WILL need to adjust your lifestyle.

And that is what the CCW Lifestyle class is all about.

See the class description at http://precisionresponse.4t.com/CCW101.html for details, then go to http://precisionresponse.4t.com/Schedule.html to register for the class.

Note: This is NOT the state-mandated CCW course required to obtain a permit. This class actually helps you figure out how to carry a concealed weapon, how to use it effectively, and gives you practice on when to do it. (If you want the state CCW course, we've got one of those scheduled for May 30th.)

This is a one-day class, $95, with registration and payment available online.

If you are interested in hearing what other people have said about this class, here's an AAR from the local IDPA director:

Still have three spots left open in the class, so if you are interested, sign up!

I'd put a link to one of the many self-defense stories (using CCW) that get posted to the media (though generally not the mainstream media, go figure) to make you think you need this because people are getting attacked everywhere and you should be scared---but I don't like advertising under false pretenses.

If you are smart enough to stay away from the three "S"s (don't do Stupid things with Stupid people in Stupid places) and you don't break the law, do drugs, or drink to excess in public, your chances of needing to defend yourself are simply very small.

But they aren't zero.  And if you have already chosen to CCW or are planning to CCW, then that means you understand the real level of risk, and have decided that your own safety (and the safety of your loved ones) is your responsibility so that even if the risk is low, possible negative outcomes are TOO IMPORTANT not to be prepared.

So take the class that will help you have CCW be a normal, every-day occurrence, with training that will help you understand legal use of force and put some situational decision-making in context.

CCW Lifestyle class, May 9th.  $95.

CCW Lifestyle coming up this Saturday---if you are interested, get registered!  (That way you'll have enough time to get yourself a barrel blocker or practice barrel for the class.  Of course, you have one ALREADY so that you can dryfire practice even more safely, right?)
