I hope this is alright with everyone, if not it will not be available at the meeting.
The NFOA-PAF has come into possession of a 7.65mm Mann that we will have for sale on a silent auction. At this point everything I find on this gun starts with saying it's very rare. This one is complete and appears to be in working condition, I will be bringing a box of 7.65 (.32) ammo along as well, will come with the gun. I have been able to find 2 recent sales for these online, one sold for $750 a couple of years ago the other all I know is it made the appraised value of $900 - $1,300 back in April. Both of these were blued guns with very little bluing left, this one is nickel and in very good condition. Both original Mann plastic grips are there and intact, but the springs holding them in place are old and slightly loose, these are normally missing and replaced with homemade wooden grips. This has what would be considered normal wear for a gun manufactured in Germany between 1924 and 1929, the magazine says Cal 9 (.380) which was also available for this gun. Many of the guns that have turned up in the US have come with documentation showing these were brought home by service men from WW II, where these were a popular as pocket pistols and carried as back up guns by German officers. This one has no documentation showing its history and has no importation markings.
We will start the bidding for a silent auction at $150, we will figure out how final payment will be made but all permit requirements will be in place.
