Multigun (3 gun) Match - August 16, 2015 @ ENGC
« on: August 05, 2015, 09:10:53 PM »
Eastern Nebraska Practical Shooters is proud to host the August Multigun match of the year on the 16th! This match is open to the public and will be held at Eastern Nebraska Gun Club (Directions) near Louisville.

We will be using the 100 yard range for this match, so please know where your rifle hits out to 100 yards!

Us crazy folks are still probably going to be shooting Heavy Metal, feel free to join us.

We have a strict attendance policy. If you are not in line to register and pay by 8:30AM, you will not be allowed to shoot!

Online Pre-Registration: https://clubs.practiscore.com/enps-august-2015-multigun-match/register
Please note that even if you pre-register you still have to be at the range and pay the match fee before 8:30AM the day of the match! It would be even better if you could show up earlier to help setup!

Online Payment will be available here: http://www.easternnebraskapracticalshooters.com/schedule.html (There is a 3% surcharge to cover credit card fees)

Match Fee: $15.

Schedule Is As Follows:
  • Setup will start at 7:15AM. We appreciate any help we can get with setup. The more people we have, the faster we can get shooting!
  • Registration closes at 8:30AM but you definitely want to show up sooner if you can. We will, as always, do our best to accommodate squadding requests but your chances are exponentially better at getting those requests fulfilled if you register online or show up very early on match day!
  • Safety and New Shooter Briefing begins at 8:40AM.
  • Shooters’ Meeting starts at 9:00AM.
  • Match begins immediately following the Shooters’ Meeting.
  • After match, all shooters are expected to help tear down stages and put away equipment! Please stay to help!
Equipment You Will Need:
  • A rifle chambered in 5.45x39mm or larger [an AR15 in 5.56x45mm is the most common].
  • A shotgun chambered in 20 gauge or larger [a 12 gauge semi-auto shotgun is the most common].
  • A handgun chambered in 9x19mm or larger.
  • A holster for your handgun. It is highly recommended you get one designed specifically for your gun and not a universal holster. The trigger must be covered by the holster.
  • Plenty of ammunition for all three guns. It never hurts to have too much ammo!

Not sure what division you have the equipment for [see Appendix A starting on page 62]? Want to get more in-depth with the rules? Read more here: http://www.uspsa.org/document_library/rules/2014/RifleShotgunMultigun%20Rules%201-1-2014final.pdf

We also have a couple ENGC range rules:
  • No shot larger than #7 in your shotgun. That means that only #7 shot and higher number birdshot types are allowed (#8 shot is very commonly used). Using larger (lower number) shot is grounds for a disqualification for unsafe equipment.
  • No steel shot ammunition! All shotgun ammunition must be lead shot! We shoot steel targets at close range and steel shot has a much greater chance of causing ricochets. This is a DQ-able offense!
  • No steel core, tracer, or armor piercing ammunition is allowed. This includes M855/SS109 "green tip" ammunition. Please make sure you are shooting lead core ammunition. Using these kinds of ammunition will also result in a DQ. This is because we are almost always going to have steel rifle targets at a match and it beats up our steel and carries a higher risk for ricochets.

If you have any questions please reply to this thread or PM me! I will do what I can to help you out. :)

Come shoot Heavy Metal with us!

A bunch of us decided to shoot our .308s this year, and we are having a ridiculously good time.  Try it!

About how much rifle and shotgun ammo?
Is tactical similar to production?

It really completely depends on the match---each time, the stages are different.

I personally normally bring about 300 rifle, 300 pistol, and 200 shotgun shells.  I then bring almost all of it home.  Both of the last two Multigun matches (total) required under 140 rounds.  That's 140 between all three guns.

....which isn't the same thing as saying people only shot that many.  :)

The pistol part of the Multigun Tactical division is similar to USPSA Limited pistol.

Tactical:  pistol straight from USPSA Limited division (but minor counts the same as major),  iron sights on pistol and shotgun, up to one magnified optic on the rifle.  No magazine-fed shotguns, no compensators on shotguns or pistols.

Multigun Limited division is the same as above, except NO magnified optics on the rifle---either irons sights, or a non-magnified dot.

I was really surprised how much ammo I came home with after the last match. I probably have enough for this match yet. But I have to check with the boss What the plans are. But man I want to shot!

I really wanted to shoot multi gun this year, but I've got no child care that weekend. Maybe next time.

I could see the headlines if I got stopped in Omaha with that.  Of course, a morning at the range equipment would find me carrying a freaking arsenal

If I understand correctly, using a USPSA Production class pistol in multigun competition does not limit me to 10 rounds per magazine.

Looking forward to this :P

This is my first time.   Sadly under equipped,  but trying it anyway.

What time does the match start? OP says registration ends at 8:30 AM, but the link sent to my email says 7:00 AM.

Yes, the match starts at 7am---that's when we want everyone to show up and start helping set up the match.  Registration goes from then until 8:30.  We have a new shooter meeting/safety briefing at 8:40 and the shooter's meeting at 9:00, whereupon we start shooting right after that.

But we don't get to shoot unless people show up to help set up stages.  :)
