That is just too purty to be a real Mosin........
The Right to Keep and BEAR Arms is enshrined explicitly in both our State and Federal Constitutions, yet most of us are afraid to actually excercise that Right, for very good reason: there is a good chance of being arrested........ and  THAT is a damned shame.  III.

Top is what I think is an M38 Finn Civil Gaurd rework. Bottom 1943 Izzy 90/30. Both are good shooters.

You don't see many Finn M38's.  That's a keeper.

I have a 43 Izzy also, but it's just so-so on accuracy.  I'm thinking of using my M39 for the service rifle matches at the Ikes this spring, since they're going to allow rifles other than the standard CMP legal ones.  Until I talk SWMBO into letting me build a AR, that is :D

Saw a couple of guys with one of those at the Bullet Hole yesterday.  Looked like fun, but for the life of me I could not figure out the caliber.  Can someone clue me in on that?

After I qualified for Rifleman at the Lincoln Appleseed I pulled out my M39 and shot a round with it just for fun.  It actually did pretty good, other than the slow reloads.  I only got half my rounds off in the rapid fire stages.

7.62x54r

It is a very old, rimmed cartridge that is fairly similar to .308/ .30-06  in it's ballistics.
Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.

I think everybody should own at least one of these rifles.
Just the history alone is worth the price, and you'd be hard pressed to find another rifle for that money that is the equal of these.
