Several Videos exist about a parallel process of reclaiming lead shot from trap and skeet ranges using highly specialized machinery.

Here's Onesuch:

One of my preferred local trap ranges was recently visited by a lead reclaimer.   The reclaimed shot is always in the range-permitted spectrum of #7-1/2 to#9.   Coupla bags that I've bought and used reloaded up quite nicely and shot just about the same as any factory lead shot.

Part of the reclaiming proceed$ are normally returned back to the clubs when lead shot is reclaimed.   Money-maker.
