New range in Waterloo
« on: October 25, 2016, 08:45:25 PM »
went to a meeting at the new range in Waterloo. The Marksman, nice indoor range, two sets of 5 lanes each,   first time I shot indoor range since 1969,  LOL> I got a 100 yard set up in my yard. but this was nice, I set up a rest and shot several hand  guns sighting then in.
Its a extremely clean place. guy came in twice in a hour and pushed the brass from the walkway. I gotta get better hearing protectors. my old ones are good outside. but not for inside.
I left a pile of NFOA flyers on the counter ,

Well, for sure The Marksman has some good loaner shooting earmuffs on hand and available.

I recently gave them (as freebies) about a dozen pairs that were left over the years at my CHP classes and were just gathering dust in my garage.

Some were even the electronic type.

So I know they gottem somewhere.

Dropped off about a full bag of safety glasses, as well.

Ear plugs underneath the ear muffs should be sufficient and are cheaper than new muffs.

One of the things I dislike about indoor ranges is the muzzle blast that is reflected back at you. That's not a problem out in the open.

This is a very nice, clean and friendly place.  We bought a membership and have been going there once a week since they opened.

well color me surprised,   the extra loud pistol firing was by  a member here, who I will not name, firing a 500 smith, the pressure next to him was bad,

BUT, unloading my range bag and cleaning stuff, I grabbed the set of ear muffs I had taken. looking at them I was surprised, the cups were empty,   found out my granddaughter had taken the packing out of a set because they tickled her ears, I got 8 sets of muffs all of them the exact same one, . guess next time ill check,
