question re: felons hunting

Is there a way for a person with a felony conviction to legally hunt using a firearm? For example, if he goes hunting with a friend and he's using his friend's gun, would that be legal?

Here's a good place to start:
http://felonyguide.com/Felony-Gun-Laws.php
And another:
http://legalbeagle.com/5426707-hunting-rights-convicted-felon.html
Answer to question is: probably not.
Which would be really, really sad.
Maybe with a bow or crossbow, as mentioned in the second source, above.

Or black powder.
Not in Nebraska.
Federal law defines "firearm" in a way that excludes primitive firearms. Nebraska law has no such exclusion, and so a convicted felon who has not been pardoned and who has not had his conviction set aside would violate the law by possessing a black powder firearm.
