Has anyone seen this offshoot of the AR15? AR Five Seven

I'm wondering how well it is balanced with all the ammo sitting way out over the barrel.  Also, seems like optics would make magazine manipulation more difficult, even though you can slide the magazine in from the side.

Anyone have any experience with these?

A buddy of mine just bought one, Haven't had a chance to shoot it, yet however hoping to sometime this summer.
