10.4x38 (.41) Swiss Rimfire
« on: February 19, 2010, 08:23:34 PM »
Anyone know where I can get any 10.4x38 (.41) Swiss Rimfire for my Swiss Vetterli?  I REALLY want to fire it.

I was intrigued by the caliber so I did some checking. On gunboards.com they have a forum about the cartridge I think the topic was (10.4x38 swiss ammo-where to get some) about the only answer I could see was to convert it to a centerfire and then make your own loads. Really neat looking rifle and round though. Good luck

Thanks FKSSA.  That is what I found too. Sounds like it might be an expensive project.  More so for the ammo than the conversion.  Read that it was $50 and could be converted back to rimfire.

Whatever you do, I wouldn't make any permanent mods as that will reduce the value of the rifle.  The Vetterli is a beautiful rifle.  I've considered picking one up one of these days for my collection.

I was thinking about that too.  Don't want to hurt the value.  It is in pretty good shape considering how old it is.  Here is a low quality photo from my Blackberry...

I just hate not being able to shoot it.  :angry9:

That's some nice tiger striping on that stock.
