A balanced investigation (6 D, 6 R) is a witch hunt?  This is the same type of investigation that was set up for Sept. 11th, 2001.

If you're a real patriot, you should want the facts to come out, whether they support the Capital Police, Trump, or make everyone look like idiots up there.

Regardless, the truth is the best friend of freedom.

Frankly I'm proud two of our congressmen had the guts to stand up to their party bosses and say "you know what, regardless of what my party is, we should get to the bottom of this whether it hurts or helps my party to do so."

Of course, if this doesn't happen, the House can still have an investigation of their own... (they do have subpoena power).  And you can bet that won't be unbiased.

A "Balanced and Honest" Hearing and Investigation - I would support. However, anything initiated by the democrats will neither be balanced nor honest". Now, if the GOP had the gumption to initiate a hearing/investigation of their own to expose the truth.................but as we've seen, they are impotent. A woman was shot and killed by a supposed Capitol Officer, who remains un-named and NO CHARGES FILED............the democrats can pull that off and you still think this will be an "honest" event?????

my 2 cent... if millions were in attendance and those that entered the capital were unarmed it was hardy an insurrection. a mob of dip ****s yes.

Capital Police would not of been able to stop the same mob "IF" they were armed and wanted to take lives,  hundreds would of been dead, including some of the democratic party.

investigation is a waste of time and taxpayers money. it's just another ploy from the democrats to try to put blame on trump, and try to block him from being able to run again, and i will bet in the coming months you will hear people from the democratic party saying ... "if the investigation finds any thing we should block trump from being able to run again" or something to that affect.. we heard dems saying impeach trump after he was in office for what?  2 months lol.

I will allow myself one personal observation. If you want to disarm yourself, that is your choice. The following quote is a favorite of mine and something to keep in mind when you make that choice.

“Sheep don’t tell wolves what’s for dinner.”

Again, if you're so sure of nothing untoward going on, why are you afraid of a bipartisan investigation?  The Democrats get to appoint their members and the Republicans can appoint theirs.

Sunlight is the best disinfectant and brings out the truth in government.

We should all want to know what really happened, why it was unable to be stopped, and who/what was behind it (if anything other than mob mentality).

So her death matters, while she was inside the Capital, but not the police officers that died trying to prevent people getting in?  I thought we were law abiding gun owners who support the police?

In this case, not all R are right and telling the truth, and not all D are evil and lying.  There's flaming turds on both sides of the aisle sadly, as well as honorable men and women.

Ashli Babbitt was executed in my opinion, there has been no transparency from the Feds about who shot her, if a local officer anywhere else would have done that, their name would have been released quickly, put on leave, probably fired, and criminally charged.
The officer who died had a medical condition.
The whole story about him being struck by a fire extinguisher was debunked.

Evidently you have not seen the pictures and video of the Capitol Police ALLOWING people inside and actually moving barriers for them? Also, the only officer that died , died from NATURAL CAUSES and was not MURDERED in cold blood. How can YOU support A Capitol Policeman who simply shot and murdered a woman?? Even the GOP just came out and stated they would fight the Jan 6 Hearing as it was nothing more than a distraction and attempt to prevent Trump from ever seeking office again. The democrats will NEVER let the truth be known as so much of their present agenda and actions are based on the fallacy and NOT the facts. Pelosi won't allow it.

I did see a couple of officers doing that, but apparently you also didn't see people spraying officers with bear spray and hitting them with flagpoles.  And yes he died of a medical condition, but if you're insisting that being involved in (and attacked during) a riot (and when you have people scaling the front of the building and letting themselves into offices that aren't theirs...it's a riot) didn't lead to his death you're fooling yourself.  If it had been another normal day at the Capital, his "medical condition" wouldn't have been triggered that day.

And I saw the footage where she was shot.  In almost any other situation (i.e. one that you didn't politically agree with), you'd probably think it was justified.

Authorities determined that there was insufficient evidence to prove Babbitt’s civil rights were violated, and that it was reasonable for the officer to believe he was firing in self-defense or in defense of members of Congress and aides who were fleeing the House chamber. Prosecutors did not identify the officer.

Not going to argue any further with people who refuse to have consistent beliefs without basing it on political affiliation.  Have a good day.

https://www.uscp.gov/media-center/press-releases/medical-examiner-finds-uscp-officer-brian-sicknick-died-natural-causes
The Washington medical examiner’s office this month found that Sicknick suffered a stroke and died from natural causes. (On Jan 7th) The determination is likely to significantly inhibit the ability of federal prosecutors to bring homicide charges.

There are two sides to the capital.  On the East side police maintained the fences against mostly peacefully agitating protestors and used pepper spray on some.   On the West side the protestors were completely peaceful and talked with the line of police at the fences.  Eventually the police, on their own accord and without pressure from the crowd, opened the fence and motioned the protestors through.  The police quietly turned around and casually walked ahead of the protestors toward the capital steps.  The video showing this plainly has been removed from most sites and replaced with a heavily edited video slathered with propaganda.

Now, if you want to talk about a REAL murder of a police officer by really violent protestors then  Officer David Dorn is among several.    While the lying media and their "fact checkers" tell us that night is day and day is night, what happened in DC in no way compares to what happened in several cities in Minnesota, Oregon, California and other states.   Arson by BLM and AntiFa protestors burned down many buildings and destroyed many vehicles, including police cars.   Police buildings were destroyed, and the center of Portland, six square blocks, was cordoned off by ARMED and trigger happy AntiFa protestors.

Both AntiFa and the BLM are Marxist cadres, by their own admission and bragging about it,  bent on the destruction of our Republic and its founding documents.  If you use the word "insurrection" against the DC protests, which didn't result in any burned down buildings or vehicles, or any police or congressmen being shot, and no occupation of DC territory, just what would you call the fires, mayhem and murder committed by the BLM & AntiFa?  "Mostly Peaceful"?  Really?    Many Democrats, most of whom are actually Marxists and comprise the 100+ members of the "Progressive Caucus" in Congress, called Jan 6th "worst attack against our democracy in 200 years".   Really?  Worse than 9/11.  Worse than the 1954 shooting in Congress by insurgents, all young Puerto Rican nationalists from New York, who fired more than two dozen bullets into the House of Representatives chamber, wounding five?  The FBI quietly admitted Friday, May 14, 2021,  that the 2017 Alexandria, Virginia, baseball field shooting that nearly killed Rep. Steve Scalise has been classified as “domestic terrorism” carried out by a “domestic violent extremist” targeting Republicans after the bureau previously classified it as “suicide by cop.”   Jan 6th was worse than that?      Worse than the Weathermen Underground terrorism?   Was Jan 6th worse than the Civil War?
Worse than Maxine Waters threatening to nationalize some corporations?
