Went dove hunting yesterday...

...... and Eldest neatly folded her first dove on her first shot.  The same bird I missed. Twice.


Though there were not a lot of birds, it was a Great Day.
The Right to Keep and BEAR Arms is enshrined explicitly in both our State and Federal Constitutions, yet most of us are afraid to actually excercise that Right, for very good reason: there is a good chance of being arrested........ and  THAT is a damned shame.  III.

Awesome! I both love and hate getting shown up by the kids, but mostly I love it!

I'll bet that you could of gone the entire time without seeing a single bird and still have had a great day. There is nothing more precious than bonding time with the kids.

Curious where you are located at?  Dove season doesn't open here in Nebraska till Sept. 1

The dove hunting comment is from Sept. 2 last year.
Gun related issues are, by nature, deadly serious.  Still, you have to maintain a sense of humor about them.

Seems like there is a lot of them around right now.  Hope they hang around a bit.  I have a new dog that hasn't had the pleasure of retrieving one from the water yet. :)

I almost bought one of those motorized motion dove decoys today....... on sale and everything, but The Boy reminded me that I had promised to take him out for lunch, and that deke would have taken most of the cash I had on me.........
