The nut jobs will be protesting near the funeral, according to Shirley Phelps-Roper, the lawyers who use religion as a shield and a sword. Isn't it time to stop these quacks once and for all?

I don't know if you all have heard of them, but I have recently hooked up with the Patriot Guard Riders. They will be there tomarrow. will stand a flag line at the funeral, as 1) to honor our fallen serviceman and 2) protect the family from this evil.  They will also escort the procession to the burial service. On top of it all there are also 2 separate escorts for family members to the service.  These guys/gals are awesome, they do this all on thier own 100% volunteers. Once they are invited by family and that is the last thing the family has to worry about, the PGR handle the logistics of thier duties.  Most ride, some don't, some are vets, some aren't; all are great American Patriots. Anyone is invited to stand a flag line with them. I'm gonna try to get off work early to stand with them tomarrow. I believe any true patriot could find the time to help them over power evil with overwhelming good. For more info check out patriotguard.org

Sure, who hasn't heard of them. Great bunch. If the media stopped giving the Westboro loons media coverage, this crap would stop.

I encourage all NFOA members to go stand with these guys if you are in the area. I am not encouraging any violence or promoting any harm to the Ultra-Christians. That would be a down right shame that the next funeral they protest would be one of their own.

I understand & agree with your point- but want to emphasize the obvious, there is nothing 'Christian' about these buffoons. Just as Communist Terrorists fancy themselves 'Freedom Fighters' this family is the opposite of what they claim to be. Christ said "By their fruits you shall know them." Matt 7:16

Just got back from Plattsmouth, and I can honestly say I never thought I could feel so many emotions at once. Sorrow- for the family of our fallen hero, Pride: in America and those still willing to stand for her, and Anger: toward the evil.

On a somewhat related side note; according to all the signs posted at most all parking lots nearby;) , I could not excercise the very Right that guarantees the Rights 'they' were were more than happily exercising. :(

Can you be more specific about the signs. It is not legal in Nebraska to ban CCW in a parking lot.

Well to be fair, I guess, the parking lots were for a rest home, church, school, and baseball field. But the signs were all posted at the entrances to the parking lots, thats what really caught me off guard and made me feel 'naughty'.

I talked with my brother who went to the funeral and he told me the Patriot Guards did a great job of drowning out the protestors, and that Cass County had them in a small roped off spot for their Protection.
He said afterwards he went a thanked many of the PG riders for their service.
