New air gun club in Nebraska
« on: November 29, 2008, 08:06:57 AM »
Back in August, I and several others started up a new air gun club here in Nebraska.
We call ourselves NAGS.
This, of course, stands for "Nebraska Air Gun Shooters".
Our web sights in NAGSC.net.
Most of us are in the Omaha area, but some folks travel from Colorado,
Minnesota, and the far side of Iowa.

We started off by having a fun shoot. One of our members has some property with lots of area and a lot of shade. He is in the country,
so we have lots of safe shooting space. We had 38 people show up for this first shoot. Targets were paper, steel, wood, coconuts,
green army men, paintballs, and lots more.
Since then we have had field target ahooting, and silhouette shooting.
We are members of a couple national groups, and some of these shoots are officially sanctioned.

Our mebership is diverse. You will see some people shooting Red Ryder
BB guns, right next to a guy shooting a $4000 PCP air gun.
These air guns are powered by springs, gas rams, co2, and compressed air. Most fire pellets, and a few fire stell BB's.
Calibers vary a lot also. There are .177, .20, .22, .25, .30, 9mm,
.45, .50, and sometimes bigger.

We are shooting 25 yard benchrest all winter, and there is a possability we may be able to also shoot 50 yard benchrest.
We have one indoor area, and are working to find a second with more distance.

Everyone is welcome. Eye protection is mandatory. Normal range safety rules apply.

Thanks
Good Shootin!!

Thanks Darry, and Welcome to the NFOA. The "F" stands for all firearms. It is great to see your group here, and  you add greatly to the diversity of the Shooting Sports on Nebraska. Please encourage others in your sport to participate, join the NFOA, and put you events calendar up for all to see,

Today, we need a nation of Minutemen, citizens who are not only prepared to take arms, but citizens who regard the preservation of freedom as the basic purpose of their daily life and who are willing to consciously work and sacrifice for that freedom.   J. F. K.
