Castle Commentary
« on: November 24, 2010, 06:26:02 PM »
I got an editorial published in the Omaha World Herald today on the Castle Doctrine.  They didn't chop it up too bad just moved some paragraph breaks around.

Andy,
That's outstanding! I really liked the phrasing, no  buzzwords, just clear, concise thoughts and statements. Almost reads like Jack Webb from the old Dragnet show.(and I mean that in a good way)     RJ

Good Stuff!!!!!!!!!!!    AND (this is my shocked! face) ...... They printed it!
The Right to Keep and BEAR Arms is enshrined explicitly in both our State and Federal Constitutions, yet most of us are afraid to actually excercise that Right, for very good reason: there is a good chance of being arrested........ and  THAT is a damned shame.  III.

A Nov. 16 news story reported that State Sen. Brenda Council said Sen. Mark Christensen?s proposal ?would grant immunity for a gang member who shoots a rival gang member they ran into on a street because the shooter could legitimately say they perceived a threat.? Council added, ?Without a duty to retreat, all you?re doing is calling an open season on gang shootings.?

With that type of logic from Sen Council maybe the State of Nebraska should ban cars and trucks since gang members can drive by your house and shoot someone.. ;D

'Logic' & Brenda Council are strangers to one another....but I guess we already knew that.

In the case of Brenda's remarks one must say she is 100 per cent correct if the gang member is 21 years of age, legally vetted and possesses a current CW permit from Nebraska he should use the Castle Doctrine once passed.  Want to guess how many gang members are going to qualify?  Great job Andy!

Great point David, the next grip would be the cost involved, from others
