C and R Revolver question.
« on: March 13, 2011, 03:47:31 PM »
Any C and R revolvers that would make a good Concealed Carry gun? Obviously reliable and ammunition is available.

The only cheap C&R revolver I know if is the Nagant revolver and that would be pretty much at the bottom of my list.  If you want a revolver for carry I picked up a S&W 642 for $361 from Bud's Gun Shop.  I think you'll be hard pressed to find a suitable C&R at that price.

Sometimes J and G sales in Prescott AZ has some C&R eligible revolvers in there Collectors Corner but they are usually rare or somewhat unique and in the $500 plus range. Nagants are interesting but not for CCW, bad DA trigger pull, low powered ammo, not much for choices in ammo.

If you're willing to expand your search to automatics there are several C&R eligible guns that would work.  CZ-82's are excellent little guns, very accurate, reliable and cheap at about $200.  Is there a specific reason you want to carry a C&R gun?  Price, or just nostalgia?

It's probably not the best for self-defense, but there is the CZ52 as well.
Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.

Hornady makes good hollow point ammo for the CZ-82 and both of mine fuction perfect with it.

I thought maybe they could be purchased a little cheaper. I thought about a pistol like the CZ-82 but didn't know about reliability. I am new to Concealed Carry. I was also thinking of carrying my Tokarev. Haven't tried hp in it, yet.
