Holster and Mag Pouch from Sparky
« on: September 06, 2011, 11:21:13 AM »
As many know, a member of the forum, Sparky, is starting to make holsters and mag pouches.  I've only had 1911 holsters for my hi-power, so when he started making holsters I thought I'd ask if he could make a dedicated hi-power holster.

He's still working the kinks out and honing his craft, but I am very pleased with the results, especially considering this is his first attempt at a hi-power holster.  He made me this avenger style holster and matching double mag pouch and I really like them.  The fit is tight as the leather is new, but it will break in well.  If open carry is allowed at Ikes for the meeting, you'll be able to pick me out by this rig.

Thats really clean work!
It is highly likely the above post may offend you. I'm fine with that.

I use an IWB holster for this gun when I want to conceal it.  I like having a nice piece of leather to carry it under a jacket or at the range.

Also, he told me I could work the magazine pouch to get the two mags to lay parallel, but I think the ergonomics are actually better with the rearward mag at a more extreme cant.

Now I just need to get a matching belt.

Sparky also made a holster for my XD40 Sub and a double mag pouch, and they are great!  No more sweat on the slide!  Took me a while to get them to fit where they worked best for my body style (rounder than most), but they were a good deal.  Thanks guy!

Sparky,

You taking any custom orders? I've been having a hard time finding a holster for a S&W M&P 9mm 4.25" barrel with a SureFire X300 on it. The only holster I've seen is the Raven Concealment one but that requires not only the holster but also a conversion kit to make it IWB. Seems like a pain in the arse.

A mag pouch for S&W M&P 9mm mags would be fantastic also.

Thanks for your time. :)
