"Magdalena Neuner — Germany’s 2011 Athlete of the Year
Chalk one up for the Germans. While the American media spotlights substance-addicted actresses and foul-mouthed female hip-hop artists as “role models” for young girls, perhaps the most popular young woman in Germany is a healthy, hard-working biathlete named Magdalena Neuner. Miss Neuner was recently named Female Athlete of the Year in Germany (she also received this honor in 2007). The 24-year-old Magdalena was raised in a small village in Bavaria, where she started biathlon training at age nine. ".......

This is the first time I have heard of her, and I'm already a big fan.  ;D

I came across this thru Julie Golob's FB post, who shoots for S&W along side Jessie Harrison and the gals.  I like to expose my tweenage daughter to some positive role models. (Lord knows the 'entertainment' venue is lacking good wholesome idols these days)  Julie has recently won top prizes nationally as well as competed in Greece at essentially the world finals and recently in Russia.  How sweet would it be to travel the globe, all paid for by throwing lead?
We also follow Miss Allie 'Allie-Cat' Barrett, a young up and comer on the shooting circuits.
