right to privacy in your car for guns
« on: February 25, 2012, 07:45:50 AM »
So is there really court cases saying your car is an extension of your house regarding guns?  I see everyone say that but can't find any on Google. Any help?

In Nebraska your car is not considered an extension of your home, that is one of the issues we are fighting with the storage law as well as in the self defense bill.  We are making headway on this issue.

If you are wondering about the employer parking lot issues, there is something to keep in mind.  Only the government can violate your rights.  A private employer isn't bound by the 2A or any other (except the 13th).

Fixed. :)

I thought employers couldn't ban you from storing your weapon in their parking lot?

Some employers, like mine, write the policy into the employee handbook, so even if it is legal for you, as a visitor to my site, to store your firearm in your car... I can be fired for doing the same thing since I had to sign the employee handbook as part of my employment conditions.  That's what this bill would fix.
