Sig556 finally put together
« on: March 04, 2012, 09:46:31 AM »
Finally got all my parts for my Sig556. I wanted to do something different than my AR-15 so went with the Sig in a more long range rifle. Now I just need to get it to the range.

Very nice! You did a good job building this one. I look forward to the range report :)

No the hand guard is not free floating mostly due to the way the barrel is mounted to the receiver. There is no barrel nut as with the AR15 so nothing really to attach it to.

Went and shot it on Monday and all I can say is WOW! It was way to windy to try and shoot any kind of groups because the target stand was moving side to side pretty bad but I was able to keep most of the rounds in a 8 inch circle. The Sig has a very gentile push I think is a little softer than my AR but it is .223 so neither really kick. If your looking for a black rifle other than an AR I definitively recommend this rifle. (and your AR mags work in it as well)
