$510 for a Maglula reloader...seriously?
« on: March 07, 2012, 09:20:52 PM »
I was looking for something to make loading my AR-15 magazines easier and found a video for the Maglula Benchloader...

Only problem, Brownell's is selling them for $510!  :o

Am I missing something or is there a reason these are so much?

What a waste of money - notice how they didn't show how long it takes to load the loader? Sure, once the loader is loaded it's fast - PMAG's load so quick and easy I couldn't even justify $50 for something like that.

Then you have to buy a reloader for the reloader

Bingo.  I use mine all the time, much easier on the fingers.

Unless you're reloading for an army, the StripLULA (at less than $30) is a much better deal for loading 30-round AR mags.

I use stripper clips

I thought about that, but do you buy only rounds that come on stripper clips? Or do you load the rounds onto the stripper clips and then into the magazines?

Once upon a time I bought 2000 rounds of TW73 M193 surplus on stripper clips, and since then I have saved used clips and picked up clips and cards as I found them.

One of our members gave me a bunch recently, so I can keep a fair supply of reloads on strippers.

Oh, yes I do reload the strippers with my bulk reloads

I use (and re-use) stripper clips + the StripLULA.  Man, I wish I'd had the StripLULA back in the Army!
