ATF == WTF

Arrgggh!

I sent in apps for 2 stamps just shy of 7 months ago.

Got the call from the dealer that he received 2 stamps.  I was like ;D

Then he told me both stamps were for the same item. I was like  :'(

They sent both stamped form 4s for one item, and no form for the other.

Of course, the one that I didn't get a stamp for is the one I REALLY wanted to pick up.

I wonder how much longer it will take them to straighten this out...

Does Govt do ANYTHING well? Anything at all? Wasting money does not count.

Sorry about that- what an irritating hassle. The only good news is I've read a number of times they 'correct' mistakes like this fairly quickly.

so, let me get this straight, they sent you two Form 4's, both stamped, for the same NFA item?  was this your dealer's mistake?  did he send the same two Form 4's in accidentally?

and sorry to hear about your troubles.  i think you should have your dealer or you call the ATF and speak with the examiner.  since its their mistake, you should get your stamp very fast.

Yes, they sent both of the stamped form 4s for the same item.

Four forms were sent in. 2 for each item. The dealer couldn't have sent the wrong ones. He didn't have wrong ones to send, unless he made copies and forged signatures, which I'm quite sure was not the case.

They had different numbers written at the top. I'm not sure what those numbers mean. Some sort of record-keeping I suppose. So it would appear that they would have entered the same serial twice in the records and who knows what happened to the other item. Or it could just be a clerical error on the forms themselves, but not in the records (or something like that).

The dealer said he called last Thurs, but had to leave a message for Mr JB and hasn't heard back as of Fri eve.

I hope they don't take another 7 months to straighten it out.

You need to return 2 of those within 10 days

OK, that's scary.  I submitted two form 1's at the same time, right at the beginning of the year.

I keep thinking to myself that the last form 1 I submitted, almost exactly a year before those, only took 3 months.  It's frustrating that I'm going on my 5th month with these.

My last transfer took 205 days door to door. I got the stamp last month.
