Shooting
« on: May 25, 2012, 11:12:01 PM »
I just bought a new scope for my 22.250 and would like to go sight it in.  I have not found a public range that will allow a 22.250 because of how fast it shoots.  Anywhere I can go to sight it in?  Fields? anything?

The Eastern Nebraska Gun Club allows anything up to but not including a 50BMG.  Its just east of Louisville Nebraska a few miles and has ranges from pistol to 100yrd, 300yrd, and 600yrd rifle ranges.  They usually have an open "Hunters Sight In" day once or twice a year. I'll see if I can find the next date for you.

ENGC also as a quarterly membership day where you can join and then go out whenever you like.  I'm on my second year with them and am out there usually about 2 weekends a month.  I find the membership fee well worth it at $120/yr.

I contacted them and talked with a nice guy, he said they might not be adding members in July (i believe the next 17th of july)  I was kinda bummed on that.  They said they would email me and let me know.  I talked to one in council bluffs by crescent and that is my next option just not as nice of facility. Thanks for the info, I also found the sight in dates but those are not until oct. nov.  I'd definitely like to shoot long before that.

Can you give me some info on the one near Council Bluffs/Crescent?  I am looking for a place also and ENGC is just a little too far of a drive for me.

Here is their website, https://www.cbr-pc.org/

I was talking with Gary, he said there is also a waiting list on their range too.   Seems hard to find places to shoot here in the midwest.

My club has 300yd rifle, 50yd pistol/rifle range, 2-trap house for shotguns.  Bummer is we are 110 miles north of Omaha.

I do know that there will be a membership meeting in July for ENGC.  There may not be any after that though.
