2009 Machine Gun shoots
« on: March 06, 2009, 10:30:14 AM »
Does anyone know of any machine gun shoots coming up in 2009? I see there were several in 2008 but how about this year? This might be a dumb question but are parents allowed to bring kids to these shoots? My oldest is 11 and youngest 8. They both have their own 10/22's and have fired my AR-15 and 22 pistols. We would all love to attend a machine gun shoot. I'm sure there is alot of fun to be had by all.

So far the only organized thing going on will the the NE State Subgun match June 6th by Scottsbluff, NE.  Have not heard if Kearney is going to have a general machinegun shoot this year.

How far are you looking to travel.

Don't know anything about these guys, but it's kind of local.

Hey Guys, thanks for the input. That Exeter option seems like a pretty good time. Able to pick what you want to shoot and for how long. Are their alot of machine gun owners here? I bought a silencer for my Walther p-22 awhile ago and it has taken many a rabbit in the neighborhood without bothering anyone. Some might find this odd but, I would love to have a fully auto .22. Since it's only job would be for fun and shooting paper I would have no use for anything bigger. Plus with the price of ammo, you could shoot this all day long.

For the full auto 22 the Ruger 10-22s can be had for around 10k, the AM180s for 12-13.

For a conversion gun the UZI SMG .22lr conversion kit runs great, around 7k for a gun and 1k for kit and some magazines, but they run and run.

The M16kits are only fun if you like to tinker a lot.
