USPSA Metric Targets
« on: July 08, 2012, 10:03:36 PM »
I searched the internet for an image or pdf of the USPSA "Metric Target" that I could download and print.  The images I could find were small and would not look very good once enlarged to the actual size.  Otherwise, there is the image in the USPSA rule book, but it has all the measurements printed on it that would need to be erased.  After 30 minutes of frustration looking for one, I finally decided to make my own.  I am not going to guarantee it is exactly correct, but it is pretty darn close.

If anyone has a need for these, you can use the following links.

This one is the entire target on one sheet of paper.

This one splits the target into four 11x17 sheets of paper.

The issue I have found is that one large copy is quite expensive.  For example, at FedEx Office it was about $3.30 + tax.  Anyone know who might print these for less?  I printed the four sheets of 11x17 ($0.22 + tax at FedEx Office) and taped them together, and it was surprisingly close to the correct dimensions.

Taping the four sheets together was a PITA, and not something I want to continue doing.
Considering the price of the full print, it would probably be a lot cheaper to buy some of the cardboard targets from one of the local ranges or instructors.  Oh well...if anyone wanted the target image, there you go.

If anyone would prefer an image file instead of a PDF, I can provide the whole image in PNG, GIF, or JPEG.  Just drop me a PM with your email.

You can also buy targets at some outlets as well fairly reasonable. Paper or cardboard. Try these links. I've used both these previously.

If you aren't actually running a match, the paper targets work just fine for practice---get yourself some old cardboard boxes for target backers, and buy a set of 100 paper targets for around $25.  I've used the above vendors, and also LE Targets.

The cardboard targets themselves aren't THAT expensive---but the shipping costs are ridiculous.  Paper targets, though, aren't bad.  I buy the cardboard targets for my shooting school, but I was just practicing on my own, I'd probably save myself the money and just buy the paper targets.
