My kids have shot this the past several years (the archery and .22 rifle portions- Eldest daughter beat two BOYS in her age group in the trap event last year).... even though it is a bit of a drive for us.

RULES:
1. $5.00 entry fee per person per class
2. Each shooter is encouraged to have a coach.
3. Everyone brings their own gun and AMMUNITION.
4. All guns must be empty when checked in with the contest manager.
5. Each contestant MUST be a member of a 4-H shooting sports club.
6. Any shooter acting in An Unsafe Manner Or Unsportsmanlike Manner will be Disqualified.
BB Gun
1. Ten shots from each position: standing, prone, kneeling, sitting.
2. No scopes allowed.
3. Smooth bore BB guns ONLY.
4. All BB guns will be fired from a distance of 5 meters.
5. Safety glasses required.
SPORTER AIR RIFLE
1. Ten shots form each position: prone and kneeling and twenty shots standing.
2. No scopes allowed.
3. All Air Rifles will be fired from a distance of 10 meters.
4. Safety glasses required.
5. Guns per national 3 position rule book.
AIR PISTOL
1. Forty shots, five shots each target of eight targets, two targets put up each time.
2. All Air pistols will be fired from a distance of 10 meters.
3. Safety glasses required.
.22 RIFLE
1. NRA .22 pistol sized silhouette targets will be shot.
2. 10 - Rams at 100 meters or 109yds. 13 in.
10 - Turkeys at 77 meters or 84yds. 7 ? in.
10 - Pigs at 60 meters or 65yds. 22 in.
10 - Chickens at 40 meters or 43yds. 26 3/4 in.
3. All guns MUST be brought in some type of case and checked in immediately
4. All ammunition MUST be separate from the gun.
5. Only .22 long rifle ammunition is used. Hot loads, such as ?stinger? are not permitted. No 17 rim fire or .22 Magnum.
6. Any sight, telescopic or metallic may be used.
7. Trigger guard MUST be present. In event of accidental discharge, trigger shall be adjusted or gun replaced.
8. The stock must be traditionally styled from conventional configurations such as factory rifle stocks or silhouette stocks.
9. The barrel can not exceed 30 inches from face of closed bolt to end of barrel.
ARCHERY
1. Final score will be the combination of both target and 3-D competition.
2. Male and female divisions will compete together.
3. Competition will consist of 30 arrows shot (5 arrows at a time) at 48 inch target faces at the following
distances:
Pre-Junior(Cub) 8-11 years old Junior (Youth) 12-14 years old Senior(Young Adult) 15-18 years old
-10 arrows at 10 yards -10 arrows at 20 yards -10 arrows at 30 yards
-10 arrows at 20 yards -10 arrows at 30 yards -10 arrows at 40 yards
-10 arrows at 30 yards -10 arrows at 40 yards -10 arrows at 50 yards
4. 3-D competition will consist of fourteen(14) targets with one(1) arrow shot at each target. The course will be shot once. Scoring will be Vitals - 10, Kill -8, and Wound -5, from the following distance:
Cubs and Youth - at a maximum of 30 yards
Young adult - at a maximum of 45 yards.
All targets will be shot at unmarked distances. No range finders, telescopes, cameras, or binoculars are allowed on the range.
5. Archery Classes: FREESTYLE LIMITED: Arrows must be drawn and released by hand. No limit on sights or stabilizers.
Freestyle:
Same as limited, but allows use of mechanical release.
BAREBOW:
Arrows drawn by hand - no sights on bow or string.
6. Ties will be broken by a shoot-off.
TRAP SHOOTING
1. Total of 50 shots fired (2 rounds of 25 with 5 per station). Ties broke by shoot off.
2. Only one shell loaded in gun at a time. None in the magazine.
3. Guns unloaded when changing stations.
4. No talking on the firing line.
5. Hearing and eye protection required.
MUZZLE LOADING
1. No smokeless powder
2.No scopes
3. In-lines allowed.
4. Only a patch round ball is allowed.
