009.01 If the application for a permit to carry a concealed handgun is complete and all accompanying documentation is submitted, a permit will be issued to the applicant by the Nebraska State Patrol within forty-five (45) calendar days so long as the record check reveals no disqualifying information and applicant meets all of the requirements of the Act and these regulations. If the record check can not be completed within the forty-five (45) calendar day limitation, a permit will be issued but is subject to cancellation if information is received that disqualifies the applicant.

Nope. If you get to day 45, call and politely tell them you've reached 45 days and would like to pick up your permit. The law is the law, and they've been through this not too long ago...

I went into the State Patrol office in Omaha today to turn in my renewal application. There were 4 other people in the office making what appeared to be initial applications. On the wall was a large calendar with notes written on several days - "45 CCW", "54 CCW", etc. Not every day had a note, but the ones that did were all over 40.

Mine was in the mail today.

I heard a Channel 8 story about the gun show on the north end of town that the dealers did more business at that show (one day) than they did in the entire previous six months.

Anyone hear that or know how accurate that reporter was?

Yes, that is what it looks like. BTW, this is an old template, and the superintendent of the Nebraska State Patrol is now Col. David Sankey.

The card is the size of a Drivers Licence and as thick if not thicker.

As mentioned in some of my prior posts, there is WEALTH of answers to many of these questions on the NSP website INCLUDING a picture of CHP. They will not have a picture, nor does one exist of a "CCW" permit as Nebraska does not issue such.

Did the 2.5 hour wait at the NSP today for pics and prints. Nice people waiting. Everyone that came after 2:30 was turned away. The lobby, small, was packed like sardines. (Oil not tomato sauce

For me, day 45 was this last Wednesday or Thursday (yesterday), depending on if you count the application day as 1 or start the following day. Nothing received as of yet. Figured I will wait a few more days before calling.

Rudy...you should be calling now. The law gives them 45 CALENDER days to issue a permit regardless if later on it must be retracted i.e. found out you are a bad guy. Hold their feet to the fire (politely of course).....
