Is that 45 working or calendar days?
Permit Issuance Process Neb. Rev. Stat. ยง 69-2430 009009 PERMIT ISSUANCE PROCESS009.01 If the application for a permit to carry a concealed handgun is complete and all accompanying documentation is submitted, a permit will be issued to the applicant by the Nebraska State Patrol within forty-five (45) calendar days so long as the record check reveals no disqualifying information and applicant meets all of the requirements of the Act and these regulations. If the record check can not be completed within the forty-five (45) calendar day limitation, a permit will be issued but is subject to cancellation if information is received that disqualifies the applicant.
Day 42 for wife and I sounds like we will be waiting more than 45
From what folks have posted here, they won't automatically issue at day 45. You need to call them on day 45 and ask about the status, and nicely press them to issue the permit as indicated by law. They had gotten back down to a 3 - 4 week wait, so wonder what happened to extend the processing time again.
If the number of calls I'm getting is any indication, it's that the number of permit applicants is skyrocketing.
Mine was in the mail today. I heard a Channel 8 story about the gun show on the north end of town that the dealers did more business at that show (one day) than they did in the entire previous six months. Anyone here that or know how accurate that reporter was?

Curious, what does a CCW permit look like? Can someone post a link to one, or post a photo? Thanks. Like this?
So it is a heavy plastic card that would hold up in a money clip, unlike the paper handgun purchase card issued by the sheriff?
