Looking for a close range to use
« on: December 22, 2012, 11:52:52 PM »
Hello everyone, I'm moving (fleeing) from the Socialist Republic of Kalifornia.  (Just kidding but the place is in a mess)
I have purchased a home in Nebraska City, and will be on the hunt for a range to use.  I like to use AR's, bolts, and pistols too.  Can anyone point me in the right direction for a range that is open to the public, and or private member too?  I would prefer to have a range with a minimum of 200 yards for the rifle though.

Thanks for any help.

Frank

Free place to shoot just south of Neb City - Hamburg Bend WMA. You can get out to about 300yds or so but there are no benches, official backstops, nothing like that.
Eastern Nebraska Gun Club www.engc.us between Plattsmouth and Louisville about a 30-40 min drive from Neb City - very nice range with 600yd, 300M and 100Yd ranges as well as several pistol bays. $120 initiation and then $180 per year - worth every penny.

Welcome to Nebraska - although this state is not nearly as gun loving as some - it's not too bad here. Since you aren't living in Omaha or Lincoln you won't have too much BS to put up with when it comes to your 2A rights.

I love hearing when people escape from the People's Republic. Just be sure none of the liberal tendencies hang with you! We don't want nebraska falling apart too. Welcome!

Lincoln Ike's club is nice too.  http://lincolnikes.com/
Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.

Thanks for the information!  I will be in town off and on until I fulfill my obligation to my current employer.  Then in October I will be "home" for good and looking for a new job.  Also, trust me I am not liberal at all, and I have shaken the liberal dust off my feet when I left California.

Again thanks for the info on where to shoot.I  I'm looking forward to getting range time again soon.

Please be aware that Nebraska has strict magazine capacity restrictions.  If you are caught with any magazines that hold 10 or less rounds, you will be heavily fined.   ;D

You can go to the Nebraska Game and Parks web site and on the front page - top - right serch box>  enter Hamburg Bend WMA...   you will get a variety of options to locate.  One being Longitude / Latitude...

Hamburg Bend WMA                  Long. -95.76           Lat. 40.59

I too escaped from Kalifornia 4 1/2 years ago.  Nebraska is paradise compared to Kalifornia!  I tell everyone that I will not go back, even to visit; and I've lived there for 80 percent of my life.  California has an undeclared war on gun owners.  The attitude is, get rid of your guns, or leave!  The people that I know in California have not got a clue why I'm so negative about their state.  It's the land of the Mickey Mouse mentality.

You guys have all been great!  I'll be back in town for awhile next week so I might get a chance to finely go check out the bend.  Maybe I'll even get to shoot some.
I see there is also a boat launch near there too.  I will be checking that out as well.

Electing governor Moombeam proved that.

You know, I have lost more sleep over that ***hole than should be allowed.  It still puzzles me that he got re-elected after his first messed up governorship.  Well, I guess that sums it up for the majority of voters there.
