Sometimes I ask a sale person a question I already know the answer to in order to see if they know what they are talking about, bullguanoting, or at least willing to admit they don't know (which I honestly don't mind that much, no one knows everything).

Haha thats funny I often do the same thing before asking them questions that I don't know and trusting their advice or 'expertise'.

Apparently so.  Anyways, he was a skinny male about 5"8 130-150 lbs. with dark hair, in his late 20's-early to mid 30's.  He's almost always at the gun counter when I go there.

Makes sense. He voted for Obama because he thought "the other guy" would take away guns...

I won't buy a gun from Scheele's in Lincoln after one of their salesmen told me "you don't want a 9mm, women can only handle .22's"    I WENT OFF on him and his manager!   It was not a pretty sight. ;)

Wish I was a fly on the wall on that conversation.  :)

I've heard some complete BS from small stores too *cough* Acher Arms *cough*

Yeah, that's always an interesting experience. Takes all types I guess...

I was at Walmart yesterday, 4 guys hovering around the gun counter about delivery time just in case something showed up, not sure what would happen if 1 AR showed up. Might have to grab a camp chair and some popcorn to watch the entertainment.

I am always amused at the BS I here when visiting Acher, it's become a reliable source of entertainment.

Sheesh, my 14 year old daughter loves shooting the AR-15 more than any other. Yes, she owns a couple of .22s and now the High Point .45 mentioned earlier, but it will forever be impossible to get her to part with "my" AR.

I went tonight and they told me they had some in earlier and were all gone.   They told me there are no reservations nor a waiting list.

Then some goony guy comes up and they get one out for him.. It was a DMPS oracle definately a .223.  How did he do that?

probably paid for it at an earlier date.

I did notice that DE Guns seemed to have a couple ARs on the shelf, not sure if they were all .22, but i know one was for sure.

I've basically stopped looking. It's all i can do to find parts to finish my current build, let alone try and buy up everythign else.
It is highly likely the above post may offend you. I'm fine with that.

I'm guessing lay-away too. I had the same thing happen, but I was the one they were holding it for :)

I got in an argument  with a woman at the gun counter in Cabelas. She told me it was illegal to sell guns with threaded barrels because of "the accessories you can put on them".  As she was standing in front of the AR's and AK's the whole time. I was tired of dealing with stupid so I left.

I stopped buying guns at Cabelas years ago.  Now I buy them at Scheels with my Cabelas Visa, and for less than they would have cost me at Cabelas.

I agree about Cabela's, I was there on Monday AM, it was a zoo. I bet there were 150 people standing and waiting for their number to be called. I looked around and really didn't see any deals at all, maybe I was missing something. I looked around in the bow dept but couldn't find a sales person within 30 minutes.  I left empty handed and had to walk about a mile to my vehicle.

I stopped by Scheels in Lincoln and there were plenty of salesmen in the fun dept to go around and they had more inventory (ammo, reloading equip/supplies, cases, etc.) than Cabela's did. Stopped in the bow dept there too, got what I needed from a very knowledgeable sales person and was out in under 20 minutes.

I do prefer to support my local small shops and NFOA sponsors whenever possible.  I find the prices better, and customer service right on top. I've shopped at DE Guns numerous times over the past week or so and found what I needed and had a pleasant experience.  However, it has been nutt to butt though recently, they could use a little wider store.....

LOL. Laughed a lot... They totally need wider isles.
