As of 10:30 this morning, they had 32 more in stock. Not sure of make/model, but if anyone's still looking, they're there.

Crap, I should have been more specific! Cabela's store in La Vista. They aren't on display, but are there if you ask. I finally got the High Point .45 I've been wanting, but again, it wasn't on display.

I own several firearms already, from an 1897 Arisaka Type 30 (intact) to a Bushmaster AR-15. I own several older Mossberg .22s and an odd Mossberg 200K shotgun. The High Point seemed like a quirky, but pretty cool carbine that I don't happen to have yet, well, do now. Besides, I owned nothing in pistol caliber before this

Just called Cabela's myself, just now, 3:20 PM and spoke with Jim at the new gun counter. The 32 received in this morning are gone. They processed more in and as of this moment, have 2 left.

I wonder if the guns on layaway will have to leave the store also? I lucked out and found a trade for one of my 1911’s. Just a fixed handle dpms, but better than nothin i guess.

I wonder "if" this guy has any idea what he is talking about.

Sounds like he is quite the salesman. 'You must buy this now or you wont be able to ever again' works because it scares people into buying.

It makes me cringe when I'm there and listen to the salespeople tell lies to customers. We were there a while ago and one of the salesmen told a guy that there was a waiting period to purchase rifles in this state. That he had to put his gun on lay away and apply to the state to get a permit to buy the rifle. The guy he was talking to kept telling the salesman that he had a pistol purchase permit and the salesman kept trying to tell him that he needed a permit to purchase a rifle! I really think they need to screen their employees better.

Sometimes I ask a sale person a question I already know the answer to in order to see if they know what they are talking about, bullguanoting, or at least willing to admit they don't know (which I honestly don't mind that much, no one knows everything).

Feigning ignorance is trick I learned from my dad, as he would say: "If you let someone talk, they'll tell you exactly how stupid they are."

ANY big box store is 90% know-nothing bullguanoters, and a decent percentage of smaller shops have their share, but usually to a lesser extent. No offense to anyone here.

I've heard some complete BS from small stores too *cough* Acher Arms *cough*

Scheels in Lincoln seems to have pretty decent guys in the gun department. I haven't bought a gun from Cabelas in probably 15 years so I can't comment there, but I would venture a guess that they've staffed up both for the holiday season and the election, so they probably brought in some guys who weren't quite up to par. The few times I've talked to guys at the gun counter there I've had a mix of people who knew their stuff and guys who obviously knew nothing.
