Smartphone and apps

i just got a smartphone and i need apps.  what do you use and why?

i already have weather, google maps, email.  im looking for other ones, especially gun related ones.

i downloaded a bunch of free apps including Google stuff, Netflix, some games, flashlights, etc.

Weatherbug - Weather
Adobe Reader - Read all those PDF's that get attached to emails
RealCalc - Scientific Calculator
Note Everything - Keep notes, shopping lists, etc.
Shazam - Song identifier for those songs you just gotta have
Pandora - Internet radio
IheartRadio - Even better internet radio IMO
ConvertPad - Convert just about any value
Ultrachron Lite - Stopwatch
Droidlight - Flashlight
Astro File Manager - Sorta like a file explorer for your phone storage
Netflix - Watch movies if you subscribe
Karls Mortgage Calculator - Loan calculator
Y5 Battery Saver - Manages wifi to only turn on in places you've ID'd you want it on, ie. home/work
Youtube - Uhh, obvious
GPS Status - GPS app for lat/long, speed, g's, quality, etc.
PdaNet - Tether your phone to your laptop, make a hotspot, etc.
QRDroid - Scan all those QR codes everyones using now
Scanner Radio - Listen to the Police/Fire scanners
QuickOffice - Works with MS Word, Excel, and Powerpoint files
JeepForum - Only if you've got a Jeep...

If you are in the OPPD service territory, get OPPDconnect to report power outages and streetlight outages

and Amazon AppStore - check for their free app each day

If you are a CCW permit holder or plan to, you have to get the "Posted" app, I don't think it is free but it does show places that you are not allowed to carry in, as well as allows you to update places that you find are no conceal carry!

You guy's forgot the most important one.  Angry Birds.  :P

Some ones on my phone:
Coolest app ever, is Google Sky Map.
Flixster is great for finding movie schedules
Great Clips - If you like cheap haircuts you can check in via the app and skip the wait.
iTriage - great little app for first aid diagnositcs
Facebook (if you're into that kind of thing)
Google Translate.  You can talk into it and it will translate it into any language.  Will even read the translation.

OurGroceries - sync the list with the wife's phone to avoid trips to the store
iKeePass - Password storage, use with Drop box
DropBox - Online cloud storage that allows you to sync data between different devices
RedLaser - PRICE CHECK for scanning barcodes and checking prices online
PoliceScanner - when the lights and sirens are going off, and I want to know what's happening
SlickDeals - good deals on lots of stuff
Gasbuddy - find cheap gas in town
Cmobile - search multiple locations of craigslist for something
touchmouse - control your computer's mouse/keyboard from your phone

For iOS there are at least two shot timers.  Handy if you're into that kind of thing, or if you need to count anything that makes a marginally loud 'ting' noise when it happens (can be somewhat helpful for reloaders).

For remote storage stuff, I much prefer Spider Oak to Drop Box for privacy reasons.

Depending on your phone, there are some level / tilt meter stuffs that can be handy as well.

For amusement, Hy-Vee has a fun little app to toy with.

thanks for all the replies.  i downloaded pretty much all of them.

in addition to the list, i downloaded Posted! ($.99), US Constitution and Federalist Papers.  you might want to download these too.

2 more for any Droid user:

Where'sMyDroid:  Lose your phone, have someone text you your code word and your phone starts screaming as loud as it can, even if you have it set to buzz only or "silent".  Makes it easy to find.  Several other options with the paid version like GPS locator.

FoxFi:  Turns your phone into a wifi hot spot without having to use your carrier's hotspot app.  Some carriers are getting wise to this one and are blocking it, but it works great on Verizon.
