Looking for a gun for the wife
« on: January 13, 2013, 08:35:33 PM »
My wife wants to get her CHP soon, but she wants a sub compact like mine, but hers has to be pink.  And not just any pink, but a light pink not offered by the major brands.  Who in the area does custom coatings that I can trust?
As I mentioned before, I am new to the area so I am trying to build a list of people I can trust for my gun stuff.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Frank

Can you do a hot pink color on a slide for me and if so do you remove the sights before coating?

Thanks!

My wife really wanted a pink one too, but after looking at a lot of them she decided she really liked the S&W Bodyguard 380.

Recoil is manageable and it shoots well.  Trigger pull is a bit long, but that's probably not uncommon for a sub-compact double action gun.  I got her some snap caps and after a few days of dry firing she was good to go with it and shooting like a champ.

Oh, Whew. There for a second I thought you wanted to trade!
With my past experience with women, I'll just keep my guns, thanks.

Seriously though. She might want to check out sites like gundivas and such.  Also visit corneredcat.com or find her on facebook. She is always networking with different outfits that cater to the girly gun crowd. Many links to many sites that offer more feminine accessories for firearms. One I am thinking of at the moment is pink/zebra etc. backstraps available for various popular firearms like the M&P.
Also have her join up here on the forum. After the Women's Expo last year, we started a ladies only section where they can get together a talk about various aspects of firearms, like the 'FlashBang Bra" without us men giggling about. ;)  Get with DanW for details.
