A Weston Nebraska man, and three friends apparently visiting the Henry Doorly Zoo return to his truck to find smashed windows and property stolen from the truck.

The break-in and theft happened on Saturday, May 9th between the hours of 11am and 4pm.

According to the report the thief took three purses which were hidden in the Dodge Ram, and more.

Gone also was the driver's AR-15 rifle, along with a 30 round magazine, and two different caliber ammunition.
Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.

See....if Ashford would have had his way and you people wouldn't hassle him, folks with AR 15s would have been banned from the zoo, thus preventing this atrocity !!!!!

Why was the AR-15 not secure? A missing M-16 shuts down a military post IIRC being retired.  This should not happen.

The firearms were secured in a locked vehicle.
