The National Institute of Justice recently released a review of some of the "firearm violence prevention strategies" currently proposed by the anti-gun/anti-Second Amendment fear mongers.
The strategies include gun buybacks, large capacity magazine restrictions, ammunition logs, universal background checks, targeting straw purchasers, requiring all gun transfers to take place at an FFL, gun shows (unregulated private sellers), gun registration and continuous checks for possession and eligibility, assault weapons bans and "smart" guns. The net of the review is that none of these so-called firearms violence prevention strategies will have a significant effect on reducing violent firearms crime.
