Short story, but Gov signed a law.

Quote
The law, set to go into effect July 1, will let school boards establish "school sentinel" programs.

South Dakota has always been gun friendly.  I got my first Conceal Carry permit there, and all I had to do was mail in my fee of $10 or something like that.  No training, no fingerprinting, no picture taking required.  You could open carry and no frightened person is going to call 911 saying a man is waving a gun around.  Imagine my disappointment when I was stationed here in Nebraska and they didn't even have concealed carry here, not until 12 years later.

Hopefully the local school boards will allow this to happen.  Just because the state will low it doesn't mean the local boards will.
The master has failed more than the beginner has even tried.

This makes me think about all the hand wringing and angst we saw after 9/11 when pilots were authorized to start carrying in the cockpit.   All that died down and it's not even an issue any more.  Hopefully more and more state and local governments will begin to realize that the decades of "gun laws" have done little more than create free fire zones for criminals, thugs, and psychopaths.

True, and one pilot even put a round through the aircraft skin in flight.  You didn't hear much about that either.
