I have my NRA Pistol Instructor and RSO certs.  I'd love to add rifle and shotgun and help out the scouts.

I, too, am very interested. I am an Eagle Scout and would love to give back to the community. It was scouting that got me into shooting in the first place!

Once you have an NRA certificate for a class, you automatically become an instructor to be able to teach that class?   Not sure how that works, new to these NRA classes.

Nope.  Taking the class itself is separate from taking the instructor course for that class.

I believe the OP of this thread was talking about training instructors, instead of merely holding the basic classes.

Correct, Thomas.  We're talking about the NRA Instructor classes for pistol, rifle, and shotgun.  Don and Denny will be teaching how to teach the NRA basic pistol, rifle, and shotgun classes.

I'm an Assistant ScoutMaster with Troop 90 in Sidney (the *other* side of NE).  I'm definitely interested, and may have 1-2 other leaders interested as well.

My deposit request has come in for the classes I am pre-registered for through the NRA web site, so it is a "poo or get off the pot" time for me.  As no concrete dates have been set for this thread, and it is all just chatter among friends, so far, I am going with the other class.  If something get structured in the next 24 or so, let me know before I wire the funds for my classes.

Have you learned the info on the NRA training?  Is it men only for this training to help the Scouts? 
If women are welcome there could be 3 of us in our house who are interested. 
My son is an Eagle Scout and is interested in giving back.

I can say, we have plenty of women Scouters, they would be more than Welcome.  I will push on Don and see what I can get going for you guys.
