informal social gathering... in Lincoln
« on: June 24, 2009, 10:16:12 AM »
I was thinking that for a lot of folks, next Friday, July 3, is a day off (markets are closed, banks, gov't are closed, etc)...

I've never met most/any of you guys and thought it might be fun to arrange a Lunch gathering... just a group of gun nuts getting together to jaw a bit and talk shop.

I tend to favor BBQ, and I really like Paul's @ 47th & Pioneers.

anyone takers?

I am game, that is literally 2 minutes from work for me.  Unless they are posted.

I'm not sure yet if I will have to work that day or not. I won't know until next week. If I don't have to work I would definitely be game. I'm sure Kim is of the same opinion. I don't know if she has to work or not.

Lincoln is about an hour drive for us, but it would be a nice ride on the Harley if the weather cooperates. Thanks for bringing this up, sounds fun.

I think I can make it. I have been there in the last 6 months and did not see any signs, but I don't always see them even when they are there...

I'm pretty sure I will be able to make it unless some disaster happens at work. Kim is still waiting to hear but is optimistic.

You won't be able to miss us. We'll either be on a rusty, dirty, oily shovelhead, or in our blue convertible with a bunch of gun related stickers on the back and prestige plates "2A DFNDR".

Pauls is excellent BBQ, they just catered our company picnic last night.  But IMHO if you want REALLY good BBQ, you gotta try BBQ4U.  I've traveled all over the US and still think they're the best.

I'd love to show up, but have to work during the day, and then we're having a neighborhood party that night.

Kim doesn't have to work, and I don't think I have to either.

We may OC.

It is close to Independence Day and all...

Can't make it this time. Sounds like fun though. I'll be with family all day getting ready to celebrate my Freedom.
