Dang kid, he beat me to it!
« on: June 24, 2009, 09:54:39 PM »
After working all day, my son and I ate supper. He said he was going to go see his friends, and he left with his AR and a full 30 round mag with hollowpoints. He knew my plan was to sit down by the badger hole and wait for one to pop his head out. We both killed one already on the same hole, but saw a third one there when I shot the second one last week. So just as I was getting ready to go, the phone rings. He tells me to come down the minimum maintenance road, as he just shot a badger.  >:(

I had to get pics, as this is his first major kill with it. He used my Model 12 with buckshot to get the first one last week, I killed the second with a Winchester 22-250, and he got this one with his Wilson Combat UT15 with ACOG.

Does the second pic remind you of anything? (Look at my avatar)

Pics of the ones shot last week (for the non believers) the lower one was shot with a shotgun and went into the hole, where it must have died, and then it was pushed out of the hole by the others, as he was rock hard when I found him. I did hit one with a HK300 22 mag, and it may have been him, but I gave credit to my son for the kill.

These were on the southeast corner of my property, just south of the prairie dog town.

I'm not that hungry. My grandparents at coon, opossum and nearly everything else, but I never heard them talk about eating a badger or skunk.

They are sellable during the winter, but now they are just like prairie dogs or ground hogs, just vermin that destroy pasture with holes.

Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.

That is my hippie bait, just over 200 yards from the barn.
