In the classic book “Shooting to Live” By W.E. Fairbairn three elements were required to win in a gun fight.

1.Extreme Speed in both drawing and firing
2.Instinctive as opposed to deliberate aim
3.Practice under circumstance which approximate as nearly as possible to actual gun fighting

Lt. Col. Dave Grossman writes in his forward to Ken Murrays book Training at the Speed of Life ; "A training sergeant from one major Western city told me how his department had been having a significant problem with officers firing far too many shots, with drastically low hit ratios. On the firing range his officers could achieve approximately ninety percent hits, but on the street in real gunfights, they were lucky to hit with twenty percent of the bullets fired. When the sergeant was ordered to call major police departments around the country to see if others were having the same problem, he found that the vast majority of departments were. One agency called it the “metro spray.” He also found that a small minority of departments had fixed the problem and were getting over a ninety percent hit ratio in real, life-and-death shooting events. The California Highway Patrol, Salt Lake City PD, Toledo PD, and other pioneers across America are now reporting extraordinary hit rates, while firing very few rounds. One of the key distinguishing characteristics that differentiates these departments from others is their training. In particular, in-service training that provides stress inoculation with marking projectiles or some other kind of force-on-force, projectile-based training. There is solid evidence to demonstrate that the problem of multiple shots with few hits is partly the result of a fear-induced stress response. The solution, therefore, is to inoculate against the stressor to prevent or reduce the fear. Force-on-force reality based training does exactly that."

What 88 Tacticals EDC Shoot/Dont Shoot course will do is put you in a situation where you will face live opponents and fight to stay alive—but never be killed. The adrenaline dump will be tremendous, and you will get to see how you and others perform (or not).

Your success or failure wont be decided by a shot timer or how many "A" zone hits you make. This is pass/fail. The importance of this type of training and what you will learn about yourself cannot be overstated.

Whether it is with 88 Tactical or another qualified trainer, everyone that has made the decision to carry a weapon should participate in this type of training.

We completed our inaugural EDC Shoot/Dont Shoot class on Wed and I must say it kicked ass!! The student feedback was positive all around.

One student described the course as "The next logical step after a CCW class"

Here is some feedback we received on our Facebook page;
To Devin, Jason and Shawn - Thank you for an incredible class last night. The Primal Performance Series Everyday Carry class was the most useful and informative class I have had. I had a great time. The Instructors, content and format were all hitting on all cylinders. Thank you again.
To those who could not attend this class, my condolences. You have truly missed out on some important training aspects that you may not have thought enough about nor had a method to practice. I will be signing up for the next one of these.

We hope to fill the next one, and I will be posting info on a Level 2 very soon.
