For One Bright Shining Moment This Afternoon............
« on: June 21, 2013, 05:08:47 PM »
Guns Unlimited in Omaha had Winchester 333-round cartons of .22lr  36gr 1280fps copper plated HP ammo in stock.   $19.99/333rd. carton.   That's $60/1000, M/L.

I got there as the last 10-pack carton was being lifted up and toward the cash register.    This Incredibly Nice Gentleman in a cowboy hat from Gretna, NE could see that I was lusting for these goodies and very generously handed over two cartons from his case.   Gun Folks are usually nice.   This Gentleman was unusually nice.

So the .22lr ammo is now gone from the shelves once again.

They did have Winchester WSP primers in stock when I left.   I bought three boxes at $40.99/box.    Inflationary prices under the Obama Administration, I guess.   They had more on the shelves in cases.

And.....most amazing....they had Winchester 100-round Value Packs of 9mm Luger 115gr FMJ for $35.99/pack.    I bought four packs just for Old Times Sake, since I still do have several ice cream buckets full of 9mm 115gr reloads.    Will make them available at cost to our Paragon Firearms CHP class students.    GU still had several cases in the store when I left.

So for a while it was like Old Times at the Gunstore, except for the prices, which are indeed modern and very up-to-date.

Shooting practice ammo at anywhere from 35 cents to 50 cents per round will surely make a Fellow pick up a flinch from firing.

I'm liking my $0.08/round cast 7.62x54R reloads more all the time.

I left there at around 1730 with 2000 WSP primers and 2 cases of the 22 ammo.  Always nice to replenish the stock.

Not to hijack the thread, but Scheels in OMA had CCI small pistol primers for $29.99/1,000.  I believe that beat GU's price.
