Because, the "Elites" know what is best. Always have, always will.

Because you can only release tax money via legislation when you have sufficiently scared people into believing your agenda has enough merit to fee all voting politicians from scrutiny.  (one way or another, it involves money and/or power...generally has little to do with the topic used to get said money and/or power).

So the answer is more...What do politicians (or the individuals pulling their strings) have to gain (money/power) by reducing fear of Muslims to the low information public?

This administration is full of contradictions like these.

Just last week, I was watching the news on tv, and Obummer was talking about gay marriage. He was saying that if a gay couple was legally married in a state where it was legal, they should be married in all 50 states and have the same rights. 

If you use the same logic for concealed carry as the POTUS does for gay marriage, he should be the spokesperson for national reciprocity.
